Entertainment Weekly realizó una lista con los mejores discos indie de los últimos 25 años bajo la consigna ”¿Por qué amamos el indie-rock?”

Para esto se rigió bajo estas tres reglas:

1. Sólo un disco representaría a cada año; 2. Todas las bandas tenían que haber firmado con un sello independiente; 3. El término “banda” se tomaría literalMENTE.
